Firefighter Academy is a study and training guide for firefighters and fire company officers. This is an excellent tool to help you pass your initial certification exam with flying colors, or to refresh and keep your skills sharp long after you become certified. This fun interactive quiz software, or "electronic flashcards", provides the most high quality sample questions you will find for firefighters at this price. Now with 100% more Hazmat Ops!

There are flashcards, and then there are flashcards! We’ve been at this since the first Palm Pilot! Here are some advanced features that we provide, that set us apart from the competition:

—Questions are revised and updated multiple times per year; you can easily email a question to us for an explanation or comment, from right within a quiz
—Search for keywords to review questions covering a particular topic (i.e. "fire extinguisher")
—Some cards include full color illustrations; most include explanations when these can be helpful
—Universal app that supports iPhone and iPads, screen rotation, and all the things you expect, including support for iPhone 6s and iOS 9
—Cards can be bookmarked for quick access later
—You can go back and just look at the questions you missed
—Advanced score tracking keeps track of your progress daily, weekly, and monthly

Pros and cons of Firefighter Academy app for iPhone and iPad

Firefighter Academy app good for

This is my first app review because this app is simple, and quick. Great for burning time ( no pun intended ) and it follows the NFPA bang on. Great as a confirmation to what you have learned. Worth every penny.
Great app to keep you sharp on your NFPA standards. Would love to see more questions though. Some areas are a little limited. Ive been recommending it to all my classmates.
I live this app, it is awesome for being able to repetitively practice questions over and over again. And I love that it doesnt automatically give you the answer if you are wrong the first time. I would love to see more variety in the questions within each module and possible a double tap feature to confirm answer. I find myself getting answers wrong merely because I flinched. But all in all an amazing tool, I use it to practice for my NFPA exams.
The app is a great for a quick study. But if youre looking to use this app to study for a chapter it is definitely not enough. An average of 22 questions is not enough. My first chapter test for chapter one had more than the practice questions. Which in my opinion you should always have more practice questions than the actual test. Anyway, it has helped me memorize terms and is easy to use. Hopefully creator sees this and can add a few more questions in an update.

Some bad moments

The app really only focuses on fire 1 and company officer training. Fire 2, driver operator and hazmat dont have that many questions in them. Better feedback and explanation of the question and the answer would be great as well
All info in this app is up to date with IFSTA 5th Edition. User interface makes it easy to navigate. Huge help in keeping sharp on all basic FF topics. Even better after update with multiple choice picture questions.
Not only does this App. have a wealth of knowledge it should be a requirement for all firefighters. This was a great contributor for me to pass Firefighter I, Red Card Certification and Haz Mat Ops. Thanks again.
This is a great app. Well done. Good review for guys on the job. Worth the money.
Works perfect never miss answers save and compares scores compete with dates a lot of material 5 out of 5 for sure.
Helping me study and prepare for quizzes through fire academy.
